INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- As floodwaters recede across much of Indiana, mold and its threat of negative health consequences are rising. Care should be taken to clean and dry the areas of the home where moisture tends to accumulate, such as basements and areas that have been subjected to standing water. This advice applies to any residential or business structure. Site-constructed houses are particularly vulnerable if they were subject to flooding.

LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Eligible state and local agencies and certain private nonprofit-organizations located in Fulton and Allen counties have two more weeks to apply for federal disaster assistance. Public Assistance (PA) funds are available in both counties as part of the presidential disaster declaration for flooding that occurred in the area from Jan. 7 - March 14.

LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Governor Mitch Daniels and officials from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security (IDHS) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) have announced that Allen and Fulton counties are now eligible to apply for federal aid to supplement state and local response efforts in the wake of flooding that occurred earlier this year.

LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- The state's last Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) closes on Friday, March 28. Help will still be available, and only a phone call away, for residents affected by the Jan. 7 ? March 14, flooding in northern Indiana.?

LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Indiana residents and business owners in the 21 counties included in the presidential disaster declaration have until March 31 to register for disaster assistance with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Eligible residents and business owners who sustained damage from storms and flooding that occurred from Jan. 7 - March 14, should register for disaster assistance immediately. New applications will not be accepted after the March 31 deadline.
