ROCKFORD, Ill. -- Hazard Mitigation Advisors from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will be providing preparedness and mitigation information through Sept. 26 to Illinois residents affected by recent severe storms and flooding. ?FEMA, in cooperation with local building supply centers, relief agencies and businesses, has been sponsoring workshops this month to discuss techniques for repairing flood damage and making homes and businesses more resistant to future flooding.

ROCKFORD, Ill. -- The state/federal Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) at the Lincoln Mall, 1255 W. Galena in Freeport, and at the Pioneer Parking Deck, 315 N. Main St. in Rockford, will close Saturday, Sept. 22 at 1 p.m. and will reopen Monday, Sept. 24? as U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Disaster Loan Outreach Centers (DLOCs) federal and state disaster officials announced today. The DLOC in Rockford will remain at the Pioneer Parking Deck. The Freeport DLOC will be located in the Freeport Public Library, 100 East Douglas ST, 2nd Floor Board Room.

ROCKFORD, Ill. -- Disaster assistance of $1.29 million has been approved for Stephenson and Winnebago County residents, according to officials with the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).  Illinois businesses, families and individuals who suffered damages from the Aug. 7-8, severe storms and flooding in disaster-declared counties are eligible to apply for disaster assistance funding and low interest SBA loans.

ROCKFORD, Ill. -- Having met the needs of the community, the Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) in Stephenson and Winnebago Counties will be closing on Sept. 22 at 1 p.m. The DRCs will operate from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8.a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday until their closure.
