LA CROSSE, Wis. -- Those who suffered damage from the severe storms and flooding that occurred Aug. 18 – 31 have until 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25, to apply for disaster assistance made available through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Wisconsin Emergency Management (WEM). Individuals and business owners can register for assistance online at www.fema.gov, or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or TTY 1-800-462-7585 for those with speech or hearing impairment. The phone line hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

LA CROSSE, Wis. -- With the deadline to register for assistance just a week away, Wisconsin Emergency Management (WEM) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced today that more than $12 million has gone to residents of the 14 Wisconsin counties affected by the Aug. 18-31 storms and flooding. The deadline to register for FEMA individual assistance is Thursday, October 25. That is the same deadline for homeowners, renters and businesses to submit applications to the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

LA CROSSE, Wis. -- Disaster assistance has topped $10.7 million for the 14 Wisconsin counties hard hit by the Aug. 18-31 storms and flooding, according to Wisconsin Emergency Management (WEM) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Registration for FEMA individual assistance closes Oct. 25. The deadline for homeowners, renters and businesses submitting applications to the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is also Oct. 25. Anyone who was impacted by the storms and flooding Aug. 18-31 and has not applied, should do so before these dates.

LA CROSSE, Wis. -- Counseling support is available to those affected by the August flooding that may be experiencing common reactions such as disbelief, feeling overwhelmed, trouble eating and sleeping, nightmares or worrying.  Counselors will listen, provide emotional support and provide a link to needed resources.
