WICHITA, Kan. -- In observance of the upcoming Labor Day weekend, all FEMA/State Disaster Recovery Centers and the SBA Disaster Loan Outreach Center (DLOC) will be closed Saturday, Sept. 1 though Monday, Sept. 3. For SBA assistance applicants may call 1-800-659-2955 or visit the website at www.sba.gov/services/disasterassistance.   All offices will resume normal hours of operation on Tuesday, Sept. 4, which will also be the last day for applicants to visit the Wilson County DLOC.

WICHITA, Kan. -- The Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced that it is expanding assistance to two more Kansas counties affected by the severe storms and flooding of June 26-July 25. Edwards and Pawnee counties join 21 Kansas counties already authorized to receive FEMA Public Assistance (PA) grants as a result of the July 2 major disaster declaration and its subsequent amendments.

WICHITA, Kan. -- The four state-federal disaster recovery centers (DRCs) in Allen, Miami and Montgomery counties have new Saturday hours beginning August 18. The hours will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This change does NOT affect the Kiowa County DRC that is closing this Saturday. Those hours are still 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Disaster Recovery Centers provide residents an opportunity to meet face to face with representatives from state and federal agencies to find answers to questions they may have about the recovery process.
