URBANDALE, Iowa -- Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management Division (HSEMD) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced today that Dallas County has been added to the Presidential Disaster Declaration for Iowa counties affected by recent severe storms, flooding, and tornadoes, May 5-7. Individuals in Dallas County, affected by this disaster, are now eligible for federal individual assistance.

URBANDALE, Iowa -- Families and individuals who suffered damage from severe storms, flooding, and tornadoes May 5-7 have been approved to receive more than $1.1 million in disaster assistance, including grants from the U. S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Eleven counties were approved to receive federal assistance to individuals and households. Those counties are: Cass, Fremont, Harrison, Ida, Mills, Montgomery, Page, Pottawattamie, Shelby, Taylor, and Union.

URBANDALE, Iowa -- A mobile Disaster Recovery Center will return to Union County on June 9 and June 11, according to officials at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management Division (HSEMD). The mobile Disaster Recovery Center will return to Union County and be at the fairgrounds in Afton on Saturday, June 9 and Monday, June 11. The center serves individuals and families affected by the severe storms, flooding, and tornadoes of May 5-7.

URBANDALE, Iowa -- FEMA Mobile Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) are already visiting disaster-declared counties in Iowa. In an effort to reach out to disaster-declared counties, two mobile Disaster Recovery Centers will visit eight locations between June 4 and June 9 , said officials at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management Division (HSEMD). The mobile DRC recovery specialists met with disaster affected residents in Ida and Union counties on June 1 and 2.
