WICHITA, Kan. -- Kansas residents who suffered damage as a result of the tornadoes, severe storms and flooding from May 4-18 will now have more time to apply for federal disaster assistance. Following a request by Governor Kathleen Sebelius, officials at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) extended the individual assistance application deadline to August 4, 2007.

WICHITA, Kan. -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) continue to assist the state of Kansas and the Kansas Division of Emergency Management (KDEM) in the recovery from the severe storms, tornadoes and flooding of May 4-18. WICHITA, Kan. -- The Haviland Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) at Barclay College in Hockett Auditorium, 100 East Elm St., Kiowa County, will close at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 30. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Representatives will relocate to the Disaster Recovery Center in Greensburg, located just east of the courthouse. WICHITA, Kan. -- The state-federal Disaster Recovery Center in Salina will move from the American Red Cross Building at 145 S. Broadway St. to Sunset Elementary School, 1510 W. Republic Ave., on Wednesday, June 27. The center will continue operations at its current location until close of business at 6 p.m. June 26, 2007. The center's hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
