SCARBOROUGH, Maine ? Residents of four additional Maine counties can now register for federal disaster assistance for damages related to the Nor'easter that struck Maine in mid-April. This aid is in addition to that already approved following the declaration of a federal disaster by President Bush on April 25.

SCARBOROUGH, Maine - Officials from Maine Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will open additional Disaster Recovery Centers the last week of May to assist individuals and business owners affected by the severe storms and flooding that occurred April 15-23. There will be several mobile facilities that operate for a few days each at multiple locations throughout York and Cumberland counties. A fixed site in each county will also continue to operate. Residents can visit any location that is convenient for them.

SCARBOROUGH, Maine - Two free disaster assistance workshops will take place at Lowe's home improvement stores in Portland and Biddeford next Monday and Tuesday. The workshops are open to the public and designed to provide information to residents on homeowner mitigation and on state and federal disaster assistance following the April flooding.
