The SBA, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) want to emphasize to those affected by the recent severe storms and tornadoes on March 1-2 that the SBA Disaster Loan Program is an important part of the recovery effort. Following a major disaster, the SBA is the primary source of federal funds for long-term recovery assistance for homeowners and renters.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), along with the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA), and the Georgia Governor's Office of Consumer Affairs, cautions victims of the severe storms and tornadoes of March 1-2, 2007, to watch out for the many scams targeting them.

CORDELE, Ga. -- The State of Georgia and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) today will open a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in McDuffie County for people affected by the March 1-2, 2007, severe storms and tornadoes. The DRC will be open from noon until 6:30 p.m. today . Starting tomorrow, Saturday, March 10, it will be open 8 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. daily until further notice. CORDELE, Ga. -- The state of Georgia and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) today opened Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) in two additional locations for people affected by the March 1-2, 2007, severe storms and tornadoes. The DRCs opened at noon and will remain open until 6:30 p.m. this evening. Beginning Friday, March 9, the hours of operation will be 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Serving Mitchell County , the DRC is located in the Emergency Operations Center , 4767 Highway 37 East, Camilla , GA.
