SALEM, Ore. -- Over $4.4 million has been obligated to the state of Oregon by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) under its Public Assistance grant program. This funding will assist with costs incurred for debris removal, emergency protective measures and the repair of public infrastructure damaged in the November and December storms.

Salem, Ore. --State and federal officials announced today that Wasco County is eligible for disaster assistance to help local governments rebuild public property damaged as a result of the severe winter storm and flooding during the period of December 14-15, 2006. Recovery funds, authorized under the major disaster declaration issued by President Bush on February 20, 2007, are available through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Public Assistance program. The declaration was amended March 16, 2007 to include Wasco County.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The head of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) today announced that federal disaster aid has been made available for Oregon to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the area struck by a severe winter storm and flooding during the period of December 14-15, 2006.
