ORLANDO, Fla. -- To date, more than 2,000 applicants from the February 3 severe storms and tornadoes declaration, and more than 200 applicants from the February 8 declaration have applied for federal and state disaster assistance.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- They came in one by one attached to a pick-up truck with the word Cavalier adorning the white front of each travel trailer unit in tow. They were the first emergency housing units to arrive after the February 2 tornadoes.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the State of Florida are working together to provide temporary housing for the victims of the February 2 tornadoes in Lake, Seminole, Sumter and Volusia counties. One solution involves bringing in travel trailers to house people displaced by the storms.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has approved $1,899,654 to help Floridians recover from the deadly tornadoes and storms that struck the state. As of close of business, February 8, 1631 residents had registered with FEMA for some form of disaster assistance, including financial grants, and other disaster-related services. Federal grants totaling $1,706,830 are going directly to applicants to help pay for housing assistance, including rental assistance and repairs to their homes.
