HARRISBURG, Pa. -- July 25 will be opening day for a new Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Scranton announced the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) today. “Residents will be able to talk one-on-one with disaster recovery specialists equipped with the expertise to provide answers to questions about disaster recovery and assistance,” said Commonwealth Coordinating Officer James R. Joseph.

HARRISBURG, Pa. -- Individuals in the process of repairing their flood-damaged homes and businesses can get additional help from Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) mitigation experts at their local hardware store. People will have the opportunity to talk to hazard mitigation experts and learn what steps they can take to prevent future damage from flooding. Mitigation projects can include elevating a hot-water heater or furnace, anchoring a fuel tank, doing landscape stabilization, and installing an interior or exterior foundation drainage system.

HARRISBURG, Pa. -- State and Federal disaster recovery officials today announced that eight fixed Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) will be closed on Sunday July 23. The DRCs located in Bucks, Columbia, Franklin, Luzerne, Northampton, Schuylkill, Susquehanna and Wyoming counties will resume operations on Monday, July 24, at 10 a.m. Homeowners, renters and business owners in any of the 22 counties designated for Individual Assistance can visit a DRC Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
