COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Homeowners, renters and business owners who were affected by the severe storms, tornadoes and flooding of March 8-13 and March 30 - April 3, 2006, have been approved to receive more than $32,605,969 million in assistance from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the State of Missouri Emergency Management Agency (SEMA). COLUMBIA, Mo. -- The Caruthersville Disaster Recovery Center, operated jointly by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Management Agency (FEMA) and the State of Missouri Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), is changing its hours effective Wednesday, June 7. The new hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. CDT, Monday thru Friday and 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. CDT on Saturday. The center is located at the American Legion Post #88, on Truman Road.

Public Assistance (PA): Disaster grant assistance available for communities to quickly respond to and recover from major disasters or emergencies declared by the President
Emergency Work (Categories A-B): Work that must be performed to reduce or eliminate an immediate threat to life, protect public health and safety, and to protect improved property that is significantly threatened due to disasters or emergencies declared by the President
Permanent Work (Categories C-G): Work that is required to restore a damaged facility, through repair or restoration, to its pre-disaster design, function, and capacity in accordance with applicable codes and standards
