SAN JUAN, P.R. -- Commonwealth and federal disaster recovery officials announced today that public agencies and certain non-profits that need FEMA Public Assistance grants to rebuild infrastructure damaged or destroyed by the storms, flooding and landslides of October 9 through October 15, 2005 must submit their Request for Public Assistance (RPA) forms to the Office of the Governor's Authorized Representative (GAR) no later than December 10 at 4 p.m.

SAN JUAN, P.R. -- Federal disaster officials have informed that the presidential disaster declaration granted to Puerto Rico is mainly to supplement the response efforts carried out by Commonwealth and municipal governments and to provide aid for disaster-damaged infrastructure. On October 9-15, 2005 severe storms, flooding, landslides and mudslides affected twelve municipalities in the island.

Washington, DC - The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced today that federal disaster aid has been made available for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the area struck by severe storms, flooding, landslides, and mudslides on October 9-15 2005.
