Merrimack, NH - State and federal officials announce the new hours for the two Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) in New Hampshire. Effective Nov. 10, 2005, the centers will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday, closed on Sunday. The DRC locations are as follows:

Merrimack, NH - New Hampshire residents in disaster-declared counties whose wells or septic systems were damaged as a result of the October severe storms and floods, may be eligible for financial assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to complete necessary repairs. Homeowners in declared areas may be eligible for grant funding to pump septic tanks, perform required repairs or replace the system as needed. Damaged private wells that are the sole source of water for the home also may be repaired or decontaminated.

Merrimack, NH - Victims of the severe storms and flooding in disaster-declared New Hampshire counties should not be concerned that their applications for assistance will reduce the amounts available for their neighbors. State and federal disaster officials are highlighting the fact that there is enough help to go around for all who are eligible.

Merrimack, NH - Disaster recovery officials are urging those who sustained damages to their personal or business properties as a result of the severe storms and flooding in October to register with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for disaster aid whether they had insurance or not. They may find that insurance may not cover all of the recovery costs and that homeowners' insurance may not cover floods.
