MERRIMACK, N.H. -To date, state and federal disaster assistance has reached more than $3 million to help residents and business owners in New Hampshire recover from losses resulting from the severe storms and flooding in October.

MERRIMACK, N.H. -- Only two weeks remain for individuals and business owners in New Hampshire disaster-designated counties who sustained losses or damage but have yet to register for federal and state disaster assistance. December 27, 2005, is the final day to register for disaster assistance for those affected by the severe storms and flooding in the disaster-designated counties of Belknap, Cheshire, Grafton, Hillsborough, Merrimack and Sullivan counties.

MERRIMACK, N.H. -- New Hampshire residents and business owners affected by the floods, will still be able to obtain assistance after Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) operated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) are closed in Alstead, on November 18th and Keene on November 22nd according to State Coordinating Officer Mike Poirier. MERRIMACK, N.H. -- The Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Alstead will cease operations at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced today.

Merrimack, NH - New Hampshire residents in disaster-declared counties who have sustained damages to their homes or businesses from the recent severe storms and flooding should expect inspectors to call if they have already applied for federal disaster assistance through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Inspectors are now in affected areas examining damaged properties and will verify the nature and extent of the damage inflicted by the storm. FEMA schedules its inspections within three to five days of the time a resident or business owner registers by phone.

Merrimack, NH - A disaster information helpline is available to New Hampshire residents who have already applied for assistance as a result of the October flooding and either need more information about programs or wish to check the status of their applications. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) helpline number is 1-800-621-FEMA (3362), 1-800-462-7585 (TTY) for people with speech or hearing impairments.
