BILOXI, Miss. -- Gil Jamieson, Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Deputy Director for Gulf Coast Recovery, introduced a new leader for the federal recovery effort in Mississippi. Dennis Kizziah assumes the post of acting director for FEMA's Mississippi Transitional Recovery Office (TRO). Kizziah will replace outgoing acting director Jeff Byard, who has accepted an executive position with the Alabama Emergency Management Agency.

BILOXI, Miss. -- A team of experts working on behalf of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is conducting the Mississippi Coastal Flood Study, an in-depth, large-scale study to produce Digital Flood Insurance Rate Maps (DFIRMs) for Hancock, Harrison and Jackson Counties.
