PAGO PAGO, American Samoa -- Some of the Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) in the Manu’a Islands have closed and others will have a new schedule as of the week of Monday, April 4. The centers are open for those whose primary home was damaged as a result of Cyclone Olaf to register for territory and federal disaster assistance.

PAGO PAGO, American Samoa -- Residents of American Samoa who suffered losses and had their lives disrupted by Cyclone Olaf will be able to get free crisis counseling to help ease their emotional stress, disaster officials announced today. In addition to the residents of the Manu’a Islands, residents of all of the Islands of American Samoa, including Tutuila, will be eligible to receive this counseling. It is not necessary to be registered with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to obtain counseling.

PAGO PAGO, American Samoa -- The Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) in the Manu’a Islands and the Helpline being operated by the American Samoa Government (ASG) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will be closed Friday, March 25 in commemoration of the Good Friday holiday. The DRC schedule for the week of March 28-April 1 (weather permitting) is as follows: Monday, March 28: Pola Guest House, Village of Ta’u, Ta’u Island. Tuesday, March 29: Siva Guest House, Village of Ofu, Ofu Island.

PAGO PAGO, American Samoa – The scheduled opening of the FEMA/Territory Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) Tuesday on the islands of Ofu and Olosega had to be postponed due to weather conditions. The new openings, weather permitting, will be Thursday, March 17 for the center at the Siva Guest House in the village of Ofu. The projected hours are 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. The center at the Malemo Guest House in the village of Olosega will open Friday, March 18 with projected hours of 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
