COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Only one week remains for individuals and business owners in the 32 Ohio counties designated for individual assistance to apply for state and federal aid to replace losses from the winter storms and flooding that occurred between December 22, 2004 and February 1, 2005.

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Nearly $7 million in grants and loans have been approved for disaster assistance in Ohio since the presidential declaration of February 15, according to figures released today by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Ohio Emergency Management Agency (Ohio EMA). The presidential declaration covers the period of December 22, 2004 through February 1, 2005. The deadline for applications for disaster assistance is April 18, 2005. The following is an update of recovery activities as of close of business Tuesday, April 5:

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The joint Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)/State Disaster Recovery Centers operating in Logan and Crawford counties will permanently close at noon, Saturday, April 2. After this date, people who still have questions about assistance or low-interest disaster loans can call the toll-free application line - 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). The number for those with hearing or speech impairment is 1-800-462-7585. Both lines are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday, until further notice.

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Two additional Ohio counties have been added to the disaster declaration for public assistance for aid to local governments affected by the severe winter storms and flooding that began December 22, federal officials announced today. The additional assistance was approved following a review of damage data in Putnam and Montgomery counties gathered by federal and state disaster recovery officials.
