ORLANDO, Fla. -- Floridians who lost income due to the four hurricanes that made landfall in Florida this year may be able to claim unemployment benefits, but time will run out shortly for some workers. There are four different deadline dates, one for each of the declared storms. ALBANY, N.Y. -- Many New York residents remain without flood insurance because they think they are safe from flooding since their home or business has never been flooded. However, for those who live in a low- to moderate-risk area, signing up for an inexpensive Preferred Risk Policy under the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) makes sense.

ALBANY, N.Y. -- State and federal officials announced today that more than $942,000 has been distributed in disaster aid to New Yorkers to assist with the recovery from Tropical Depression Ivan. The $942,000 was disbursed to renters and homeowners whose primary residence was damaged or destroyed, as well as those who were displaced from their home. The funds will assist victims with: making repairs to their disaster-damaged homes; paying rent for temporary housing; and paying for other lodging expenses if they were displaced from their homes as a result of the disaster.

ALBANY, N.Y. -- More than 1,100 New Yorkers affected by Tropical Depression Ivan have called the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or (TTY) 1-800-462-7585 to register for disaster assistance and, afterwards, received a loan application from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Recovery officials are urging everyone who has received such an application to take time to fill it out and return it promptly.

ALBANY, New York - Nearing the one-month anniversary of the Presidential disaster declaration of October 1, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), has issued more $882,000 in disaster aid to New Yorkers to recover from Tropical Depression Ivan.

ALBANY, New York - Under the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), individuals and business owners may qualify for financial assistance to cover the cost of rebuilding or relocating their substantially damaged homes or businesses following the flooding from Tropical Depression Ivan or from any flood.
