BATON ROUGE, La. -- Louisiana residents and business owners in the nine disaster-declared parishes who sustained damage from severe storms and flooding between May 12 and May 19 have just a few more days to apply for disaster assistance. August 9 is the last day applications will be accepted for individual assistance. Loan applications to the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) for disaster-related losses to real and personal property must also be submitted by that date. The declared parishes include: Acadia, Iberville, Jefferson Davis, Lafayette, Livingston, Point Coupee, St.

BATON ROUGE, La. -- Crisis counseling is available to help Louisiana residents rebound from the state’s severe storms and floods on May 12-19, 2004. State and federal disaster recovery officials said the program, funded by the Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and administered by the Office of Mental Health for Louisiana Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, is available to residents of the nine parishes that have been declared disaster areas.

Baton Rouge, La. -- Louisianans have received almost $3.2 million in disaster aid, according to officials from Louisiana Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness and U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The federal disaster declaration of June 8th covers nine parishes: Acadia, Iberville, Jefferson Davis, Lafayette, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, St. Landry, St Martin and West Baton Rouge. The following serves as an update of disaster recovery activities:

Individual Assistance - Dollars Approved

Individuals & Household Program (IHP): Provides money and services to people in Presidentially declared disaster areas.

Housing Assistance (HA): Provides assistance for disaster-related housing needs.

Other Needs Assistance (ONA): Provides assistance for other disaster-related needs, such as furnishings, transportation, and medical.
