KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) recently obligated more than $1.14 million in assistance to the state of Nebraska, to repair and rebuild damaged transmission lines near Lincoln. The damage was a result of the tornadoes in May and the project was approved for the grant assistance a few weeks later.
LINCOLN, Neb. -- Only one week remains until the registration deadline expires for individuals and business owners who were hard hit by the severe storms, tornadoes and flooding that began May 20, 2004. The registration deadline is July 24, 2004. To register for assistance, call the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) toll-free number 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or TTY 1-800-462-7585, for speech or hearing impaired individuals. The lines are open Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
LINCOLN, Neb. -- Disaster assistance totaling $7.6 million has been approved so far to help Nebraskans hit by severe storms, tornadoes and flooding May 20-June 1, federal and state officials said. “We are working hard with our state, local and volunteer partners to help these stricken areas recover as quickly as possible,” said Scott Wells, federal coordinating officer for the disaster recovery effort. Public Assistance (PA): Disaster grant assistance available for communities to quickly respond to and recover from major disasters or emergencies declared by the President

Permanent Work (Categories C-G): Work that is required to restore a damaged facility, through repair or restoration, to its pre-disaster design, function, and capacity in accordance with applicable codes and standards
