SALEM, Ore. -- Harney and Wheeler counties are now eligible to apply for state and federal disaster assistance to repair or replace public facilities damaged by the severe winter storms in late December and early January, disaster recovery officials announced today.

SALEM, Ore. -- To help public agencies apply for federal disaster recovery assistance for damage suffered during the late December/early January severe winter storms, applicant briefings are being scheduled by Oregon Emergency Management (OEM) and coordinated with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The briefings will cover eligibility, how the process works and how the financial payments are made. If there are questions prior to or following the briefings, potential applicants are encouraged to call 1-877-365-1016 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
