Indianapolis, IN - In less than one week since the application process began for disaster assistance in the 21 disaster declared counties of Indiana, more than $1 million in disaster assistance grants have been issued to assist those affected by the late summer severe storms, tornadoes and flooding, state and federal officials announced today.

» How To Apply For Assistance Washington, D.C. -- The head of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced today that President Bush has declared a major disaster for Indiana, opening the way for the use of federal disaster funds to help meet the recovery needs of families and businesses overwhelmed by floods and other extreme weather that started late last month.
