San Antonio, TX -- State and federal officials have announced the Disaster Recovery Center in Nueces County will remain open through 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 30. This center has seen sufficient traffic within the last several days to justify remaining open to serve the Nueces County area residents. Any resident affected by the disaster who desires to meet with Recovery Specialists to ask about available assistance for damages resulting from Tropical Storm Fay is encouraged to take advantage of the extension.

San Antonio, TX -- For Brazoria, Nueces and Live Oak County residents who wish to meet with Recovery Specialists to ask about available assistance for damages resulting from Tropical Storm Fay beginning September 26, the time for visiting the Disaster Recovery Centers is getting shorter. State and federal officials have announced the DRCs will close at 6 p.m. Friday, October 25.

San Antonio, TX -- In the aftermath of Tropical Storm Fay, people who have registered for disaster assistance will find that they have also been issued a U. S. Small Business Administration (SBA) loan application. These forms are sent to all applicants (both individuals and business owners) who may or may not qualify for a loan. This form must be completed and returned before any further assistance can be considered.

The line will re-open on Tuesday, October 15 to assist those in the ten declared counties affected by Tropical Storm Fay. FEMA remains on the job through the Columbus Day weekend, helping communities across the country respond to and recover from disasters of all types. In accordance with changes required by law, FEMA will conduct an upgrade of its computer software programs from today through October 14.
