Washington, DC -- The head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced today that federal disaster aid has been made available to help Guam recover from the effects of a recent earthquake. FEMA Director Joe M. Allbaugh said the assistance was authorized under a major disaster declaration issued by President Bush following a review of the agency?s analysis of the terrority?s request for federal aid. The declaration covers damage to public property from the temblor that measured 7.0 in magnitude when it struck the island on October 13.
