Baton Rouge, LA -- Federal, state, local and voluntary agencies are working in partnership to help Louisiana residents and business owners recover from the effects of Tropical Storm Allison from June 5-22. The following is a summary of ongoing recovery efforts for the period ending August 31, 2001.

Baton Rouge, LA -- The National Teleregistration Center will be closed Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, September 1-3, to observe the Labor Day holiday. Disaster victims who have not registered by 8 p.m. Friday, August 31, will have to wait until Tuesday, September 4, to register.

Baton Rouge, LA -- Louisiana residents who have suffered losses because of the wind-driven rain and floods of Tropical Storm Allison now have until Friday, September 21 to apply for federal/state disaster recovery assistance. Col. Mike Brown of the Louisiana Office of Emergency Preparedness (LOEP) made the request, which was immediately approved by Federal Coordinating Officer Bill Carwile.
