Little Rock, AR -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in compliance with an executive order permitting the donation of surplus federal equipment to educational institutions, today donated 91 computers valued at $188,258, which is the first installment of a total of 112 computers valued at $240,758, to the Russellville Independent School District.

Little Rock, AR -- Little River County is included in the Major Disaster Declaration for Public Assistance to governments and certain nonprofits to help with recovery from the February 14 flooding. This brings the total number of counties included in the declaration to 22. All 22 counties are eligible for reimbursement of expenses incurred for:

Little Rock, AR -- Communities in federally declared counties affected by the recent severe storms and flooding may be eligible for assistance with emergency protective measures, debris removal and restoration or replacement of disaster damaged public facilities. Public Assistance refers to the collective public, not to individuals, as in the phrase, "public property." Eligible applicants are those who are legally responsible for eligible work in the designated disaster area and are one of the following:

Public Assistance - Dollars Approved

Public Assistance (PA): Disaster grant assistance available for communities to quickly respond to and recover from major disasters or emergencies declared by the President

Emergency Work (Categories A-B): Work that must be performed to reduce or eliminate an immediate threat to life, protect public health and safety, and to protect improved property that is significantly threatened due to disasters or emergencies declared by the President

Permanent Work (Categories C-G): Work that is required to restore a damaged facility, through repair or restoration, to its pre-disaster design, function, and capacity in accordance with applicable codes and standards

*Dollars Approved: Assistance dollars approved but not necessarily disbursed.

*Dollars Obligated: Funds made available to the State via electronic transfer following FEMA's final review and approval of Public Assistance projects.
