Miami, FL -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Florida Division of Emergency Management and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) have approved disaster assistance totaling more than $170 million to thousands of South Florida residents affected by the severe storms and flooding that swamped the area on October 3rd and 4th.

November 6th is the deadline for filing a disaster-related unemployment claim is for eligible residents of Broward, Collier, Miami-Dade, and Monroe Counties.

Miami, FL -- Free legal assistance is available for South Floridians who suffered losses in the recent rains and flooding and who are unable to afford an attorney. Legal counselors can help with insurance claims for property losses and medical bills, assist in drawing up new wills and replacing deeds which may have been destroyed in the disaster. The attorneys will advise property owners on contracting for home repairs, and they can help renters in disaster-related disputes with landlords.

Miami, FL -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the State of Florida have approved $1,236,521 in recovery assistance funding to help many of the more than 1,600 Broward County residents routed from their homes or trapped in them following early October's heavy rains. The two-day downpour swamped many southern parts of the county, prompting a Presidential disaster declaration on October 4th that made county renters and homeowners eligible for a variety of state and federal programs designed to help people put their lives back together after a disaster.
