Xenia, OH -- Residents of Greene County who have not yet applied for disaster assistance have only one month left to call. Monday, Nov. 27, is the last day to file applications for most disaster assistance programs, according to federal and state disaster recovery officials.

Xenia, OH -- Disaster assistance for victims of the severe storms and tornado that hit the Xenia area last month totaled more than $1.4 million in grants and low-interest loans as of close of business Monday, Oct. 23. More than 800 people have called to apply for assistance to date, federal and state officials said.

Washington, DC -- Xenia, Ohio, joined a select list of communities across the country today when it was chosen by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to become part of the agency's Project Impact: Building Disaster Resistant Communities initiative. The announcement marks the first time the Project Impact designation has been made as a direct result of a community's response to a disaster.
