Parsons, KS -- State and federal officials announced today that travel trailers are being purchased to meet the immediate housing needs for individuals who have been displaced as a result of the severe storms and tornadoes on April 19th and 20th. "Disaster victims in Crawford, Labette and Neosho counties may qualify for this temporary program," said Anne Allen, state coordinating officer.

Parsons, KS -- Two Kansas counties, Labette and Neosho, are now eligible to apply for state and federal disaster assistance to repair or replace public facilities damaged by severe storms and tornadoes, April 19th and 20th, disaster recovery officials announced today.

Parsons, KS -- If you had damage in the April 19th and 20th severe storms and tornadoes and you have already applied for state and federal disaster assistance, you may still have questions. The Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Helpline is an important resource for those who have been affected by April's storms and have already registered for disaster assistance. The toll-free Helpline number is 1-800-525-0321 (TTY 1-800-462-7585). The Helpline is open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (CDT).

Federal Coordinating Officer, Louis Botta said, "If you were uninsured, under-insured or your insurance policy did not cover some of your damages or losses, FEMA may be able to help."

Parsons, KS -- Officials from the Kansas Division of Emergency Management (KDEM) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) have announced that three mobile Safe Room units will be available for the public to examine in Parsons, Kansas, beginning at 9 AM on Monday, May 8. The Safe Rooms will be located by the Municipal Building, 112 S. 17th St., on the Broadway Street side.
