ST LOUIS, Mo. -- Residents and business owners in four more Missouri counties who suffered damages from early April severe storms and flooding, now are eligible for state and federal disaster assistance, recovery officials announced today. Carol Coleman, federal coordinating officer for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), designated the counties of Andrew, Iron, Macon and Osage for disaster assistance from April 3-14 storms.

ST LOUIS, Mo. -- A toll-free disaster assistance teleregistration line and a Disaster Recovery Center in Madison County, Missouri, are changing days of operation, effective Wednesday, May 5. The federal/state registration number for persons in Madison County who were affected by severe storms and floods in early April, now will operate from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. The line previously was open on Saturdays as well but is being downsized to five days a week.

ST LOUIS, Mo. -- Nearly $250,000 in federal disaster assistance grants already have been approved for residents of Madison County (Missouri) affected by early April severe storms and flooding. The money comes just one week after President Clinton declared Missouri a major disaster area, enabling residents and business owners in Madison County to apply for state and federal help to recover from storm damages.
