ST LOUIS, Mo. -- Residents and business owners in four more Missouri counties who suffered damages from early April severe storms and flooding, now are eligible for state and federal disaster assistance, recovery officials announced today. Carol Coleman, federal coordinating officer for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), designated the counties of Andrew, Iron, Macon and Osage for disaster assistance from April 3-14 storms.

ST LOUIS, Mo. -- A toll-free disaster assistance teleregistration line and a Disaster Recovery Center in Madison County, Missouri, are changing days of operation, effective Wednesday, May 5. The federal/state registration number for persons in Madison County who were affected by severe storms and floods in early April, now will operate from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. The line previously was open on Saturdays as well but is being downsized to five days a week.

ST LOUIS, Mo. -- State and federal floodplain management officials will meet with Fredericktown and Marquand floodplain managers, and with Madison County elected officials on Monday, May 3rd to discuss post-disaster floodplain management issues. Madison County (MO) was designated to receive state and federal disaster assistance because of severe storms and flooding from April 3-14 after President Clinton declared a major disaster for Missouri.
