TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Federal/state assistance for victims of Hurricane Georges and Tropical Storm Mitch in Florida has reached $84.5 million. Acting Federal Coordinating Officer Pat Seaman of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) said financial aid to residents, business owners and public entities will continue to increase as the state and FEMA continue processing applications.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- FEMA/state aid to residents and business owners who suffered damages in Hurricane Georges and Tropical Storm Mitch have exceeded $74 million, Deputy Federal Coordinator Pat Seaman of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) said today. More than $71 million has been approved to date for damages in Monroe and the 16 Florida Panhandle counties included in the Georges declaration. More than $2.8 million has been approved for tornado and flood damages in Monroe and Palm Beach counties included in the Mitch declaration.
