The Career Development and Training Branch is sponsoring four more HR for Supervisors and Managers courses for the remainder of the year. The next offering is July 23, 2012 in the National Capital Region. FEMA Permanent full-time supervisors and managers hired or promoted prior to fiscal year 2012 are required to complete this class. This course is designed to provide an overview and understanding of personnel management responsibilities, laws and regulations necessary to effectively accomplish organizational objectives.

On-campus lodging is not available for the NETC offering. Students must lodge off campus for the duration of the training.

Eligibility:
FEMA Permanent full-time supervisors and managers hired or promoted prior to fiscal year 2012. This will count towards your continual learning obligation. Interested CORE supervisors and managers may also apply.
Employees hired or promoted into a supervisory role in FY12 and beyond: You will be assigned to the Fundamentals of Leadership Program, a one-year program that includes an interactive orientation; Leadership Essentials, a 40-hour course; and Foundations of Leadership, a series of one-hour activities. Participants also receive an initial baseline assessment and 360-assessment at the end of your first year.
Employees located outside of the National Capital Region: You are only required to complete the Leadership Essentials to satisfy the continual learning and the HR for Supervisors and Managers obligation.
Costs:
There is no cost for the training; however, the employee’s office, directorate or region is responsible for any travel cost associated with this training.
