Consultation on FEMA’s Proposed Tribal Consultation Policy

Main Content

FEMA developed a proposed Tribal Consultation Policy, which will establish a process to guide FEMA officials on how to engage Indian tribes and Tribal Officials in regular and meaningful consultation and collaboration on actions that have tribal implications.  From October 2013 to March 2014, FEMA sought feedback from all federally recognized tribes on the proposed consultation policy.   FEMA's final Tribal Consultation Policy was published in August 2014.
