US Response Mission in Haiti – Lessons Learned & Best Practices

DescriptionThe Haiti Earthquake offered many opportunities for knowledge transfer between the International Relief Community and US Response Agencies. This session will provide an overview of the coordination and support provided by US Department of State, USAID, FEMA, and HHS, and insights into how these agencies worked with the UN, the Haitian Government, and the many International Relief Organizations. Overviews of the Cluster System, Repatriation, USAR, Donations, Logistics, Support to Children, and other aspects of this extraordinary international effort, with an emphasis on lessons for Domestic Response agencies.
