Queens, N.Y., Nov. 15, 2012 -- Alexey Audeev, Deputy Director of International Cooperation Department EMERCOM of Russian, shakes hands with Colonel Michael Miklus, Defense Coordinating Officer for the U.S. Army, during a tour of FEMA's DR-4085 Joint Field Office in New York. Following Hurricane Sandy, FEMA coordinates its work in New York at the JFO and supports state, local, tribal and volunteer agencies in their disaster response activities. FEMA also welcomes the cooperation and assistance of international experts such as the Russian Airmobile Rescue Service who are familiar with disaster response techniques needed to assist communities in need of relief.
