Timeline

April 7
- President Obama issues an emergency declaration, making available federal resources to assist flood fighting efforts in the Red River Valley.

May 10
- President Obama issues major disaster declaration for North Dakota.  Initially 39 counties and three tribal reservations are eligible for aid under the Public Assistance program. Eventually, 44 counties and four reservations will be included.

June 24
- Aid is expanded to include assistance to individuals.  Residents of nine counties will be eligible for this assistance.

June 26
- First FEMA/state Disaster Recovery Centers open.  Locations will operate in 11 different cities.

June 29
- FEMA Deputy Administrator Richard Serino visits Ward County.

July 13
- DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano visits Ward County.

Nov 21
- Individual Assistance registration deadline.

Nov 22
- Final Disaster Recovery Center in Minot closes.
