The mission of the Disaster Operations Division is to coordinate and provide the core federal disaster response capability needed to save lives, reduce suffering, and protect property in communities throughout the Region that have been overwhelmed by the impact of a major disaster or emergency, regardless of cause.

Disaster Emergency Communications

John MacLean III - Disaster Emergency Communications Coordinator

The Disaster Emergency Communications Coordinator serves as the Regional Emergency Communications Coordination Working Group (RECCWG) Chair. The coordinator provides Regional tactical disaster emergency communications capabilities to support all-hazards disaster response and recovery and national security emergency requirements.

Logistics

Edward Delissio - Branch Chief

The Logistics Branch plans, manages, and sustains disaster logistics support and resources for the Region. They are in support of ERT operations, responsible for the establishment of the Joint Field Office (JFO), and indentifying program support requirements necessary for effective response/recovery operations. They also play a vital role of regional liaison between Headquarters logistics and field operations.

Operational Planning Branch

David Thomason - Branch Chief

This branch supports the full spectrum of disaster response and recovery operational and deliberate planning, ensuring continuity between long-range planning, current operations planning, and field element incident action planning.

Operations Integration Branch

Thomas Finnegan - Branch Chief

The Operations Integration Branch ensures the effective regional coordination, integration, and implementation of disaster operations programs and activities, including the Regional Interagency Steering Committee (RISC), GAP Analysis Program, operations training and exercises, performance measurement, and after action reviews.

Regional Response Coordination Center (RRCC)

The RRCC is the heart of disaster response. This central hub provides situational awareness information, identifies and coordinates disaster response requirements, supports response operations, performs capabilities analyses, and reports on the status of federal disaster response operations and special events in the Region.
