National Preparedness Division
The mission of FEMA's Region I National Preparedness (NP) Division is to provide leadership in the coordination and facilitation of all federal efforts to assist state and local emergency management and emergency response organizations to build and sustain capability to respond to any emergency or disaster, including a terrorist incident as well as other natural or man-made hazards.
STEP: Student Tools for Emergency Planning
FEMA Region I National Preparedness Division is leading the country in implementing FEMA’s first emergency preparedness education curriculum. STEP: Student Tools for Emergency Planning was piloted last year with 4,400 students.
Lowe's Safety Day in Augusta, Maine
AUGUSTA, Maine -- In the spirit of National Preparedness Month, FEMA joined Lowe's for "Safety Day Saturday" in Augusta, Maine. The purpose of this event was to raise community awareness on the importance of individual and family disaster preparedness.

FEMA Region 1 and Rhode Island Emergency Management partner with minor league baseball team during Public Safety Day. The purpose of the Ready Campaign is to inform citizens on having a plan, being prepared and being informed on all hazards.
