Message from the Branch Chief
The Grant Services Branch was a newly created addition to the Management Division of FEMA Region I in 2008. As the team was being assembled, I looked forward to defining how this branch would function and operate within the greater Management Division and the Region. As we crafted task strategies, and looked at historic approaches, we have found many strengths to build on, while leaving enough room for innovation and a new energy.
We look forward to continuing our partnership with program colleagues. Front and center of the Grant Services Branch efforts will always be two vital core elements: education and customer service. The record number close-outs of grants and programs over the past several years is an important first step in making this branch a success and increasing efficiency. Our outreach to State emergency management and Homeland Security decision makers has opened up new lines of communication and partnering opportunities.
The core competencies of this branch will serve us well as we realize the strategies and look beyond to plan for what is next.
