Region I Hosts Private Sector Conference

FEMA Region I hosted the first ever private sector outreach conference in Windsor, Conn. on July 13. The event arose as a chance to provide feedback following the Hurricane Yvette exercise - the first federal disaster exercise to include private sector participation.

As travel advances have made the world smaller, they have also made the spread of infectious disease much easier. The recent tuberculosis scare again demonstrated the potential threat to the traveling community. There are steps businesses can take to help protect their travelers.

Advisory Council Members Named

Last month, FEMA announced the membership of the National Advisory Council (NAC). The council advises the Administrator of FEMA on all aspects of emergency management to ensure close coordination with the agency's partners across the country.
