Enabling Emergency Information Exchange
The purpose of the Disaster Management Program is to enhance efficient coordination and collaboration among public safety organizations by enabling the interoperable sharing of emergency alerts and incident-related data between disparate systems.
News and Scheduled Events:
Basic incident information management tools are provided at no charge to members of public safety organizations. Information about the legacy Disaster Management Interoperability Services Tools (DMIS Tools) remains available; however, a major Web-based upgrade, the Disaster Management Framework (DM-Framework), is currently in progress. One of the capabilities provided for warning authorities is the automated transmission of public emergency alerts to the National Weather Service for distribution via the National Weather Service (NWS) family of dissemination services, and relay to the Emergency Alert System. Information about the All-hazards Emergency Message Collection System (HazCollect), including access requirements for both practitioners and software developers, is available from the Public Alerting section.
