The U.S. Fire Administration (USFA) provides national leadership for our fire and emergency services stakeholders by providing training programs for managing the national fire data center; and conducting research efforts in fire detection, prevention, suppression, and first responder health, safety and effectiveness. Grants are awarded to fire departments to enhance their ability to protect the public and fire service personnel from fire and related hazards. Available grants include Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG), Fire Prevention and Safety Grants (FP&S) and Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response Grants (SAFER).
