Information
The media, business and industry, teachers and emergency personnel all play crucial roles in helping the public be prepared for disaster. FEMA works with all these groups to get messages out -- teaching kids to "make the right call" to 911 in an emergency; reminding parents to keep emergency supplies on hand; showing homeowners how to make their home more hazard-proof; and distributing disaster-specific messages to areas at risk.
Through FEMA's Community and Family Preparedness Program, individuals and communities can obtain information on how to prepare for disasters in order to reduce loss of life and property.
