The Federal Insurance and Mitigation Administration (FIMA) is a part of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), a component of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).  FEMA administers the National Flood Insurance Program, a Federal program enabling property owners in participating communities to purchase insurance protection against losses from flooding.
